As a trainee in the Army Civilian Career Program for Engineering Technology, you will utilizes the basic principles of the applicable engineering technology to perform the less complex phases of planning, design, and support of the technical surveying staff. The position is located at Corps of Engineer District, Walla Walla, WA.
Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Recent Graduates Program.
The Department of the Army Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Department of Army intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.
After Program completion, Department of the Army Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent position.
To be eligible for conversion to a permanent or term position, Recent Graduates must:
oSuccessfully completed at least 1-year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program.
oDemonstrate successful job performance.
oMeet the Office of Personnel Management's qualifications for the position to which the Recent Graduate will be converted.

Department of the Army Recent Graduates Program Eligibles
Positions are open to:
oRecent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.
oVeterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have as much as six years after degree completion to apply.

Utilizes a computer and several software programs to produce a variety of narrative and tabular material in a technical or support organization.
Types items such as: correspondence, letters, memos, studies, personnel actions, forms, charts, graphs, billings/payments, contracts, modifications, specifications, numerical columns, spreadsheets, budgets, cost information, etc. Performs various functions such as: store, retrieve, edit, calculate, insert and delete text, arrange tabulated data, import or export, etc.
Responsible to type material in final form applying punctuation, spelling and grammar principles; appropriate format; and proper scientific or technical terminology.
Enters data into a variety of established computer programs to track, maintain, and update information. Gathers, compiles, prepares, validates, and corrects information before entry. Tabulates or posts data from source documents to work sheets or other records; computes totals, balances, percentages, or performs other arithmetical procedures. Manipulates data to provide status and other reports as required.
Provides general clerical support to the office staff. Performs receptionist duties in a tactful and courteous manner. Greets visitors and receives calls; answers simple clerical questions, or directs to proper personnel when technical information is requested.


General Experience/Minimum Qualifications: To qualify, applicants must possess or possess within three months completion of in at least an Associates Degree in administration or business.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, and abilities) in the following areas:
oKnowledge of Project Procurement Activities
oSkill in Performing Human Resource Functions
oKnowledge of Correspondence and Office Support Functions

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
